What if I want to make changes to a survey after it's already imported into Way to Health?  For any of the following actions listed below, the survey will either need to be A. reset or B. a new version of the survey created. 

  • Adding in new questions
  • Changing response choices
  • Updating display/skip logic
  • Recoding values or adding validation

Just want to update text? Text changes made in Qualtrics will automatically carry over into Way to Health and don't require any special action. 

(tick) Prior to study launch? 

  1. On the Surveys page, click the 'View in Qualtrics' button.  This will redirect you to Qualtrics where you can make the changes to your survey. 

  2. In order to bring these changes over into Way to Health, click the 'Reset' button on the survey.  This will pull in the changes that you made in Qualtrics. 



  3. Resetting a survey will cause any configured feedback to be lost. You will need to go to the encounter containing the survey and reenable the feedback. 

(error) After study launch:

DO NOT reset the survey! Resetting the survey will:

  • Delete all survey responses stored in Manage Data
  • Delete all feedback built on the survey encounter

  1. Instead, create a new version of the survey by clicking the 'Create Survey button.  

  2. Name the updated survey with version number.  For example, 'Screening Survey V3'.  Way to Health will then reroute to Qualtrics where you can build the new version of the survey.  

  3. Pull in older version of the survey into new version by selecting 'Copy Items From'
  4.  Select 'My surveys' and search for survey to copy.  In this example, we want to copy 'Screening Survey V2'. 

  5. Select 'Import Entire Survey


    1. Update survey as needed. 

  6. Once the updates are complete and the survey has been tested, click the 'Import' button. 

    21. Qualtrics will reroute to Way to Health's survey page.  You should now see the survey you built in Qualtrics listed.

  7. Swap out surveys in the encounter to which the old survey is attached. 



  8. Going forward any participant that fills out the survey will complete the latest version of the survey (V3).  Any participants who already completed the old version of the survey (V2) will still have their completed surveys saved in WTH.
