The randomization scheme is typically defined in the study protocol and should be set up according to that documentation.  Way to Health supports basic, blocked, and blocked with stratification randomization.  See Randomization for more detailed information and definitions on the 3 different types of randomization schemes.

  1. You can navigate to the randomization set up page in 2 ways,
    1. Click 'Study Arms' on the left side bar navigation, and then click the 'Configure Randomization'

    2. Click on 'Enrollment' on the left side bar navigation, scroll to the randomization step, and then click the 'Configure Randomization'.

  2. Select your study's randomization method. Again, see Randomization for more detailed explanations of each randomization scheme.
    1. Basic
      1. WTH defaults to basic randomization and equal arm weights (1:1:1)
      2. Update the arm weights appropriately
      3. Click the 'Update Configuration' button

    2. Blocked
      1. Select Blocked Randomization from the randomization method drop down list
      2. Select appropriate block sizes
      3. Update the arm weights appropriately
      4. Click the 'Update Configuration' button

    3. Blocked with Stratification
      1. Select Blocked Randomization with Stratification from the randomization method drop down list
      2. Update the arm weights appropriately
      3. Click the 'Update Configuration' button
      4. (warning) Now you will see a 'Configure Strata' option on the left side bar navigation.  This is where you will go to set up the strata and block sizes.  See How to Configure Strata for more detailed information on how to set up the strata.
