If your intervention period will require you to issue payments to one or more participants after May June 2024, please follow the instructions below to make the transition as smooth as possible. If not, you do not need to take any action.

...

  1. Request a Visa ClinCard integration per the Requesting ClinCard instructions

  2. Ask the W2H Liaison on the Disbursements Project Team to provide your program’s ClinCard Study ID # to W2H (waytohealth@pennmedicine.upenn.edu)

  3. W2H’s operations team will add the second ClinCard integration to the W2H program and set Visa ClinCard as the default payment type so that new accounts created will default to the Visa ClinCard payment preference.

  4. At your convenience, transition existing participants from MasterCard to Visa ClinCard if the intervention schedule will require you to pay them after May June 2024. Do this by going to the participant profile > payment preference section and toggling the dropdown to the Visa ClinCard option.

  • The Visa ClinCard integration does not support payment to minors. Penn Finance is still figuring out how they will approach this. They may keep the MasterCard ClinCard integration solely for minors after May June 2024. As such, they recommend not moving minors from MasterCard ClinCard to Visa ClinCard at this time.

  • To our knowledge, there is no way to transfer a MasterCard ClinCard balance to Visa ClinCard. This means that some participants may have balances on both cards. The W2H payments page now indicates which payment method was used per payment to each participant . This way, you can easily review how each participant was paid in case of questions.
