What is a device upload event?
An event type that looks for participant data from a specified device source, like a Fitbit or Twilio SMS receiver. Once device data attaches and the event closes, feedback runs based on a participant's completion or compliance, often linked to a target, on the event.
What are the different types of device upload events?
- Device data from a tangible device, like a Fitbit. This is the most common type of device upload event.
- Device data from a receiver, like Twilio SMS. This type of device is used to receive text message responses from participants
- Device data from a sleep device, which is much like scenario #1, except has a special event window due to the uniqueness of collecting sleep data
How do I set up a device upload event?
Before you can create device upload events, you need to add your devices.
- Navigate to the 'Devices' section in the left sidebar.
- Once on the devices page, select 'Add device'. Name the device and select the device source from the 'Class' drop down list.
- Depending on the device that you choose, Way to Health will display the device and data selection strategies. Generally, you can choose the default options, however, it is a good idea to review them. Once you confirm that the device options look correct, click the blue 'Add' button.
