Intraday data
Some devices support the collection of more granular time-series data throughout a day. Most of our devices will collect a value for a certain day, while devices that support intraday data collection will often have data by the minute.
Collecting Intraday data
In order to start collecting Intraday data, open Advanced Config on the eligible device and set the “Collect time series data” field to “Yes”. This will tell Way to Health to start collecting this data in the background
Using Intraday data
For the most part, intraday data is not available for use in event logic or in variables. Delays in when we get data often make it not particularly useful for real-time evaluation of the data, so for the most part this data is used by teams to run post-intervention analysis. In order to get a copy of the intraday data collected for your team, submit a Help Desk ticket asking for that report. You will get a compressed CSV file with the following columns:
Column | What is it |
---|---|
| The short ID of the participant this row of data is for |
| The ID of the device this row of data is for |
| A brief description of what this data is. This may indicate what level of sleep data was collected, or that it’s step data |
| The value collected |
| The datetime that the row is for |
| A datetime of when Way to Health collected the data |
| Generally the same as created_at |
MVPA
The Fitbit Pedometer devices is the one device that does support the usage of intraday data in logic, through the calculation of a Moderate and vigorous physical activity (MVPA) value. This value is based on Intraday data and is empty if Intraday data is not being collected.
