Experimental Features

Enrolling non-participants

A participant record can be automatically created for a non-participant or an inactive participant who texts the study number. This may be helpful for text-in enrollments.

The participant profile will be created with the first name “Anonymous,” last name “Participant,” a randomly generated username and a randomly generated password. The cell phone will be set to the incoming phone number.

Set-up

  1. Verify that the cell phone field is visible and all other non-required fields (including email) are hidden on account creation.

    1. To do so, navigate to Manage Study then Enrollment

    2. Click Edit for Account Creation. This should open the field options for the account creation form.

    3. Verify that cell phone is required and all other non-required fields are hidden

2. Navigate to Advance Settings then the Experimental Features header.

3. Click the checkbox “If we get a text message from a non-participant, automatically enroll them”

4. Click “Save”
